MSC: Grammy Award winners
I'll be updating the Grammy winners of the ones i mentioned in a previous post as the Grammys move along. At this first writing, the only category with a winner amongst them (those named before the show starts) is Los Lonely Boys for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group (7:43 p.m.).
And i think Steve Earle's win for Best Contemporary Folk Album (for And the Revolution Starts . . . Now) is outstanding and well-deserved.
And a superb array of cultural talents won big too -- Youssou N'Dor, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Ozomatli, Brave Combo and Bill Miller.
Outstanding that two winners are politically inclined (and my way) -- Bill Clinton and Jon Stewart. (9:52 p.m.)
Well, now that everything's in, it looks like the only winner from my list of "rooted-fors" is Los Lonely Boys. A lot of great stuff gone unrecognized there! I'm hoping my Oscar favorites do a tad better than this. (10:40 p.m.)
